Hitchhiker Skit

This week for literacy we learned how to identify character traits in this book called The Hitchhiker by Roald Dahl. we identified the character traits of 2 of the Main characters. From the information that I gathered, I can identify that the narrator in the story is a brave kind and trusting person, and the Hitchhiker is sneaky and dishonest but he is a likeable person. Here is the script that me and my partner wrote

Narrator *on his knees trying to light a fire* you know you’re one crafty guy

Hitchhiker: *Smoking a cigarette*  It’s nothing i’ve been doing it for years

Narrator: I never knew that handsmiths could be so crafty

Hitchhiker: These hands could build a house in a day

Hitchhiker: *Throws his lighter to the narrator*

Narrator:*in an irritated tone* Why didn’t you give me this sooner?

Hitchhiker: I forget I had it

Narrator: *annoyed tone*  Bruh

Hitchhiker: Just start the fire we better burn this thing before any cops show up

Narrator: okay the fire small we have to blow wind on it to make it burn more

Narrator: *blows on fire*

Hitchhiker: Alright it’s lit let’s leave now before anyone sees us!

Both of them run to the car and speed off

Thanksgiving

Hi there please read through my slideshow to learn more about Thanksgiving as a celebration.

I do not think New Zealanders should celebrate thanksgiving because it is not a really important thing to celebrate in New Zealand.  This is my opinion.  What do you think about thanksgiving?  Should we celebrate it here in Aotearoa?

A Day Out In The Country

A DAY OUT IN THE COUNTRY

An adult Wedge taíled eagle hovered in the sky as large, puffy clouds rolled quickly south and the day drew close to noon. It was autumn and the gum trees on the ridge were making their annual donation of brown stained leaves to the wet surface below. In the distance, a herd of cattle moved slowly in Indian file towards their favourite resting spot near the creek’s edge.

It was here that the Jones family were busily preparing the picnic lunch which they would share with their overdue guests, the Harris family. At l. 15 p.m., exactly 60 minutes late, Mr and Mrs Harris and their three children arrived. Mr Jones had already collected enough Wood to light a to boil the billy.

Meanwhile, as the four adults chattered around the fire site, the seven children played cricket close to the babbling water of the creek.
